All students have physical education classes weekly and they are encouraged to participate in a range of sporting activities from rugby, football, basketball, unihoc, badminton, and gymnastics to aerobics and step aerobics. In addition, rugby, hockey, football and basketball are available out of school hours.
Rugby
A senior rugby team was established at the start of 2010-11 academic year. Training took plave at the Iveagh grounds in Crumlin each Monday afternoon with Mr Brady coaching. Nineteen boys played regularly. Mr Brady entered a team in the Leinster Sheild competition for newly established clubs. After a term of training the lads played several matches before being knocked out od the cup competition. Inspired by the senior boys , the juniors began rugby training after easter and it is hoped to field a junior rugby team as well in 2011-12.
Hockey
A agreement has been signed with Guinness ladies Hockey Club to provide training grounds and coaching to our girls at Iveagh grounds on Monday afternoons starting in September. Coaching will be provided by Niamh Small, an international hockey player. Niamh, a local girl, began her hockey career playing for Guinness ladies Club and it is marvelous to have her expertise available to the girls. After some months of initial training it is intended to enter leinster competitions as soon as possible.
Football
Football is ever popular with the boys. Before school, during breaks, after school, there is always football being played in the schoolyard. On Wednesday afternoons the game takes on more structure when Mr Brady takes the boys to a local astro turf pitch in Digges Street for coaching. Occasional matches are arranged against other schools that also play.
Basketball
Ms Daly coaches basketball each Wednesday afternoon for junior girls in DIT Kevin Street. It is intended to begin match play this year.
